This is the second time Joseph as mentioned this. It makes me think of Romans 8:28 "and we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
It also helps me to remember that God is ALWAYS good. Tragic events happen and we often see the narrow minded view of pain in that moment, and often forget to remember God's goodness and eternal plan of salvation.
I find I have to exercise daily the mindset of the eternal God. Yes he blesses us in our days here on earth, and yet sometimes it feels like he is doesn't hear our prayers as we are suffering. But the story is about a much bigger and eternal blessing that will come with Christ's return!
