Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them, "Who is it you want?" "Jesus of Nazareth," they replied. "I am he," Jesus said. ... Jesus commanded Peter, "Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?"
this chapter in john reminds me to drink the "cup" God has given me. Jesus knew what was going to happen. he knew why he came. he didn't hide when they came for him. instead, he came forward and said who he was.
sometimes i don't like the taste of the drink in my cup, but if i know it is of God, then i need to drink it without fear. God already knows what's going to happen. i just need to get out of the way.
