A Call to Arms.

Hello out there!

Today marks four months of reading. Wow! We are 1/3 of the way done!!

I'm sorry I haven't been posting anything other than the daily reading for the past few weeks. I haven't known who to feature, because I haven't been good at keeping track of who's still plugging along. Forgive me!!

I am still here. Are you still here? Leave me a comment and let me know if you're still reading along- even if it's sporadically or even if you're just hoping to read along still even if you've fallen behind.

If you've fallen desperately behind, and have thought of giving up, this is a call to arms.

Pick up your Bible. Flip to today's reading. And read.

Then, do it again tomorrow! This world is a battleground. Do not give up just because you got behind. Each day is a new day, and reading God's words can do nothing but enrich you. What have you got to lose?

I went through a bit of a 'reading slump' the past couple of months-- feeling like I was reading out of duty rather than delight. But recently, it all changed. Something in me gets WAY excited when I crack open my Bible every day. And I'm beginning to feel like I can't live without it. It feeds me. It is becoming precious to me. It is so powerful and intricate and poetic... so LIFE giving.

So... let me know if you're out there. Then pick up your Bible if you've fallen behind and charge forward! Let out a battle cry or two and start running! Let's continue to encourage one another and share what God is revealing/speaking through His word.

The main thing He's been speaking to me recently is this: "Be very strong and courageous. For I am with You." (He says it a million times in the book of Joshua.) HE is the reason I can be strong. HE is the reason I can be courageous. Because He is with me!! Whom shall I fear?! Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!

Doesn't that just make you want to sing? At the top of your lungs?

Oh, how He loves you! Let's keep running after Him together!

I'm here! Still reading! I have good days and bad days... days where I have to catch up on 4 days of reading. But I'm still loving it and I'm so happy to be a part of this still. I'm loving the Old Testament right now.

I'll be honest, I need to let out a battle cry because I have fallen Waaaaaaaay behind. I couldn't bear to concede and say I'd failed though. Starting in May, Im gonna be back on track! Thank you for the encouragement I needed to come back to it.

I am here and I'm current right now. I occasionally get behind but find myself getting nervous about it, I don't want to let this go. I don't always retain what I am reading, but at some deeper level I can feel this benefiting me. I do know the image I had of God is changing.

I am still here! I'm a bit behind (eh-hmm about a month) but I am still reading. When I got home from church today, my kids went down for quiet time/nap time and I got my bible out. It felt good to read again after a few weeks hiatus. Hopefully I can catch up soon. Thanks for this blog of inspiration--its just what I needed! :)
