I'm not a parent but it seems to me that when your child is old enough, giving them all the help and information you can and then letting them make their own decisions (mistakes and all) would be so hard! But if you don't do this, if you lead them by hand through everything hard, not giving them a choice, you cripple them emotionally. God took care of His people, having infinite patience and finally, laying everything out for them to make their own decision. What love! How hard that must have been for Him to see them (and us) make mistakes.
