As a culinary school graduate "you must not eat meat with blood still in it." Well done, really? Just kidding.

Genesis 10-32 is my favorite passage yet. I love the idea that we all related, connected, with one true father. If everyone thought way, I think we'd live in a much more peaceful world.

"For your heart will always be where your riches are."

"Ask and you will receive; Seek and you will find; knock and a door will be opened to you."

"Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly." (Psalms 5:3)

Welp, this caught my attention today. I need to be better at praying with expectation. Too often I pray a "wish list" of wants to God and don't really expect them to be fulfilled.

We read yesterday that God knows are needs and will meet them for us. I should be more trusting when I pray. (And realize that my wants aren't the same thing as my needs)

"But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them every sing for joy. and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield."

9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

I was touched by these verses. As a mother I can relate to this. All of us parent make sure our children needs are met. We would not let them do without. As a Him in the same way our children trust us.

I'm with KillerB on this one - that verse hit me too. how often do I expect God to fulfill my prayers? too often do I throw my prayers out there, and then shrug them off. I guess it's hard to be expectful, because that can lead to disappointment.
