I love the parallels between Exodus 9 and Psalm 29.

Exodus 9:23-26
When Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, the Lord sent thunder and hail and lightning flashed down to the ground.
The only place it did not hail was the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were.

Psalm 29
The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.
The voice of the Lord strikes
with flashes of lightning.
The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

It's amazing how much the reading matched up today. The plagues over Egypt were God's voice and glory being shown to the Pharaoh, but his heart was still hard. Also, "the Lord blesses his people with peace"... and Goshen was the only place that was spared from the plagues. Even though God's voice thunders, he still spares His people. Amazing.

"For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."

This is intense!
