I was struck during this reading by God's heart for justice and compassion. He didn't just rattle off a laundry list of do's and don'ts...he set guidelines for justice to occur. It's like God was saying, "hey, be good to each other, and if others aren't good to you, don't worry because I've got your back." My favorite verse: "Do not mistreat an alien or oppress him, for you were aliens in Egypt." God is so good to us, and He calls us to remember what He has brought us out of and be examples of His goodness to others. This has totally refreshed me and brought joy to my heart today. I'm so excited I could just shout: God is good!
